Thread of Iman sells modest wear online in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described on this page.

What we collect
- When you order. Your name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number if you give one, and what you bought.
- When you pay. Your payment is handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation that it succeeded and the last four digits of the card. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you create an account. Your email address and a password, which is stored in encrypted form.
- When you browse. Your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, through cookies.
- When you contact us. Whatever you choose to include in your message.
Why we use it
- To take payment, pack and deliver your order, and handle returns. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract.
- To keep accounting and tax records. Our lawful basis is legal obligation.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
- To send marketing emails, and only if you have asked us to. Our lawful basis is consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing. We share it only with the organisations that make an order possible: our payment provider, our delivery partners, our website host and our accountants. Each may use it only to carry out the job we have asked of them.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for six years from the end of the accounting year they fall in, which is the period HMRC requires. Account details are kept until you ask us to close your account. Records of marketing consent are kept until you withdraw it, and for a short period afterwards so we can show we acted on your request.
Cookies
This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, including remembering what is in your bag and keeping you signed in. Cookies of this kind do not require your consent. If we add analytics or advertising cookies later, we will ask you before setting them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete it, restrict how we use it, send it to another provider, or stop using it for a particular purpose. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time.
